About This Rug
Khotan rugs were originally handwoven in or about the ancient city of Khotan in the region of Xinjiang (Chinese Turkestan). This is a very simplified version of most Khotan designs. Even though it is a repetitive, quite simple design that may be reminiscent of some broadloom carpeting, the beauty of the rug lies in the quality and texture of the wool. Handknotted in a 60-knot Tibetan weave of handspun, hand carded, wonderful Tibetan wool (See What is a Tibetan rug?).This rug is made in all the standard sizes and may be ordered any custom size as well.
