About This Rug

This is a traditional Tibetan lotus flower design in a rug from Innerasia, a small Tibetan company that arguably makes the finest Tibetan rugs in terms of the density of the weave and the quality of the wool. The wool, from sheep living at the highest altitudes, was handspun into yarn of slightly irregular diameter so that the dyes are absorbed a bit unevenly, resulting in the – the only word that comes to mind – shimmering look of these gorgeous rugs. (Also available in plum and red.)
